Karen Van Spall graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts/ University of Melbourne. Roles for Opera Australia/Oz Opera include Suzuki, Kate Pinkerton, Mercedes and Carmen (understudy). Other roles include; Dorabella, Second Lady, Slave (Salome, OA) Third Orphan (Der Rosenkavalier) Third Handmaiden and Unborn Child (Die Frau Ohne Schatten, VSO). She created the role of "Therese Rein" (Rain) and performed “Wagner in Paris” for Opera Australia’s “Melbourne Ring Festival.” She has given recitals at the Melbourne Recital Centre with Melbourne Art Song Collective. Orchestral concert performances include Mozart’s Requiem and Missa Brevis in C, Berlioz’ “Les Nuits d’Ete”, Mahler’s “Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen” “Rückert-lieder” and 8Th Symphony. Karen has recently completed a MA in Arts Management.
Adam Miller graduated with Distinction and a Dip RAM from the Opera Programme at London's Royal Academy of Music. He was a finalist in the Covent Garden National Opera Studio Scholarship 2003 and 2004. He has been awarded the Royal Over-Seas Leagues Bursary, the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme Award and the Royal Academy's Edna Graham Scholarship. He has performed with Scottish Opera, Opera Australia, Opera Queensland, OzOpera, Clonter Opera and Melbourne City Opera and his operatic roles include: Figaro (Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Le Nozze di Figaro), Germont , Baron Zeta, Papageno , Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor), Marcello, Schaunard, Masetto, Marco (Gianni Schicchi) and Silvio (Pagliacci). Sacred and concert repertoire includes Raphael/Adam in Haydn's The Creation and the bass soloist in Handel’s Messiah. Adam has an equally distinguished career on the concert platform, in film, television and radio, and has featured on two CDs.
Theresa Borg is a highly acclaimed and versatile performer whose name is well known in Opera, Music Theatre and Television. She played both Cosette in Les Miserables and Christine in Phantom of the Opera (Cameron Mackintosh), Jellylorem/Griddlebone in Cats (The Really Useful Company) and Hope in Anything Goes! (Production Company). Last year she played Fosca in Passion (Life Like Company). Her operatic roles include: Mrs. Samsa, Philomele (cover), Sakia/Hendricke, Zerbinetta and Angelique for Victorian Opera for which she received a “Green Room” nomination. For Opera Australia/ Oz Opera she has sung Musetta, Peep Bo, Eliza (Cover) and Queen of the Night. Theresa is also an accomplished writer and director.

eva justine torkkola
Eva Justine Torkkola has performed in over thirty stage productions including the sold-out season of Hotel Bonegilla by Tes Lyssiotis and directed by Laurence Strangio at La Mama for their 50th birthday festival and in 2016/17 she performed the role of Young Natalie in Wagner in Paris at the Melbourne Recital Centre and on tour for The Parlour. She has also been involved in a range of roles both in front and behind the camera, and will be seen on screen in the lead role of Martha in the upcoming feature Family Secrets directed by Eve Ash, to be released later this year. Currently an Acting Teacher for NIDA Open, Eva has been accepted into the Masters of Film and Television at the VCA, Melbourne University for 2018. She is a passionate actor, director and creator and is incredibly excited to bring her own scripts to life on screen at VCA over the next two years!
